C’est ma première lecture pour cet auteur d’exception (à part les articles que je suis quotidiennement sur son blog).

J’ai prêté ce livre à deux amis très proches.

Le premier venait d’intégrer une grande multinationale depuis une année en tant que consultant technique. Il pensait quitter car il commençait à s’inquiéter pour son évolution ; il n’était pas certain que ça lui permettrai d’évoluer rapidement vers des responsabilités managériales (ce qu’il voulait faire). Après avoir lu ce livre, il a décider de rester. Il vient d’être promu pour un poste de manager avec un grand challenge en perspective.

Le deuxième, grande expérience en gestion de projets et d’équipes techniques, et plus de trois ans dans sa boite actuelle, se posait à son tour des questions ; Suis-je épanoui dans ce que je fais ? Est-ce que c’est bien ce que je voudrai faire ? Aller faire mieux ailleurs mais… Quoi ? Et en courant quels risques ? Des mois d’hésitation.
Un matin avant d’aller au bureau, il lit un passage de ce bouquin et prends tout de suite sa décision qu’il annoncera deux heures plus tard à son manager. Monsieur part dans quelques semaines à l’étranger (emmenant avec lui sa petite famille) pour être là où il voudrait exceller.
